Research Interests
Dr. Mao's research focuses on understanding fetal exposure to cannabinoids through in vitro and in vivo studies. He aims to understand the factors that determine fetal exposure to THC/11-OH-THC through identifying and characterizing drug-metabolizing enzymes and transporters in maternal organs, placenta and fetal tissues responsible for metabolism and transport of THC/11-OH-THC in vitro and in vivo.
