Research Interests

Dr. Simpson's research program applies analytical chemistry approaches to understand and control human exposure to hazardous chemicals in the environmental and in the workplace, including cannabis-derived VOCs (terpenes), diesel exhaust, woodsmoke, toxic metals, and pesticides. He has a particular interest in occupational exposures experienced by cannabis workers’ exposure, and the effect of those exposures on their respiratory health.
