Mission
The University of Washington Center for Cannabis Research (UW-CCR) was created in 2017 as a coordinated and centralized effort for Cannabis research across disciplines. Its mission is to foster innovation in Cannabis research and solidify science to address pressing Cannabis-related questions.

Timeline of accomplishments
2017 - Inception
- The UW Center for Cannabis Research (UW-CCR) and its mission were planned.
- UW researchers and outside partners were identified.
2018 - First milestones
- The Board of Directors was chosen and convened.
- The first UW-CCR retreat was held with guests from Washington State University.
2019-2020
- The UW-CCR partnered with the UW Addictions, Drug & Alcohol Institute (ADAI)
- The UW-CCR partnered with Washington State University's (WSU) Center for Cannabis Policy, Research, and Outreach (CCPRO)
- The UW-CCR established an interstate network with the University of California Irvine Center for the Study of Cannabis.
2021
- Frameworks for Future Cannabis Research: Legislative Report was submitted to the Washington State Legislature and funding was secured to establish the frameworks.
- The link between the UW-CCR and the WSU-CCPRO was outlined and implemented, as proposed in the legislative report.
